  “Beautiful surroundings but inconsistent amenities.”

  The estate itself is beautiful, peaceful and well-maintained. The houses have been nicely renovated, are airy and cool, with a pleasant outside seating area. It was lovely sitting listening to, and watching, the birds in the morning and evening.

  The rent for the Casa was not cheap, even in mid-season, and we felt that several aspects of our stay did not reflect the amount of money paid. The interior furniture was barely sufficient for 4, let alone 6, the sofa and wardrobe and shelf space in particular which was inconsistent across the bedrooms. We could only access the wifi from outside. As visitors from the U.K. who had flown to Italy and therefore were unable to pack supplies into a car, we were disappointed in the parsimonious provision of necessities. Poor quality cutlery and kitchen knives; one tea towel for the week; no cleaning cloth for the kitchen surfaces; liquid by the sink that may have been washing up liquid or hand soap; insufficient toilet rolls; a lack of any basic foodstuffs for example salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, sugar. No separate towels available for swimming. Some information on the local area would have been useful, and is usually provided. All of this might be understandable in a cheap rental, but not in an expensive one. The hand over that we were given by the administrator was perfunctory and seemed to centre on which rubbish bins to use. Reception was usually unstaffed, with no times given for when someone would be available. At one point, we went up to pay, but the office was being used by a young man who waved us away. When we did manage to find Paola to pay, we stood for more than 15 minutes while she conducted a very confused phone call.

  Hello, I am very sorry and surprised by the comment you made and by the fact that you had an inconvenience in my accommodation. However, I would have appreciated being called on the various points of discomfort you had and I certainly could have given you more help in terms of missing elements or objects. We have standard amenities in the apartments which I'm sorry you didn't like. The reception is closed as I am always alone but always responding to all customer needs, both material and related to information on the area. The phone call with the agency was linked to the receipt as it concerned a tax issue. I apologize again because we did not live up to your expectations. Cordial greetings Paola

  Unterkunft sehr ordentlich und sauber; sehr ruhig und erholsam; eigener, schöner Badestrand mit schattiger Liegewiese; schöner und gepflegter Pool; trotz hoher Außentemperatur und ohne Klimaanlage waren die Temperaturen im Haus (Casa1) erträglich; das nette Städtchen Bolsena ist mit dem Auto in 5 Minuten zu erreichen; schattiger Parkplatz; sehr nette Betreiberin (Paola), die für alle Fragen jederzeit ein offenes Ohr hatte und immer gut erreichbar war
